Influencers

ScoMoP-Treasurer-Scott-Morrison-with-Paul-Murray-at-the-Central-Coast-Leagues-Club.jpgHe is just a wonderful man, like all his cronies. Here is nice photo of him with his good mate that you can hang on the wall.

Within the theme of this discussion, I don't see much difference to the Influencers popular on radio in the 80s, for example, like John Laws and others of his ilk.    Apparantly, he made lots of money trolling brain dead listeners who could not work out that the more vitrlol they offered back in response to stupid statements of opinion, the more money the radio shockjocks made.

An interesting lyric in the movie and stage show - Jesus Christ Superstar, wonders as to why he, Jesus, chose that time to appear.   The basis for the question is that Israel in 4BC had no mass communication whereas today he could have reached a whole nation.    1973 that was written, i believe.    Come forward to now and the advent of the Interwebs, I suggest Jesus chose back then because today he would be no more than another influencer struggling for viral status among the other influencers trolling for Likes.

Anyone claiming to be the Son of God today would probably be institutionalised.

I dont know if that would happen in the first instance.   Any number of religious ceremonies are based on reported messages from a putative Deity and many a report of interactions with Alien beings or Paranormal entities are tolerated by the general public.    Social media and the Internet can be viewed as a medium for wannabe Influencers to tout for followers of any kind of ****amainy advice or theory or conspiracy alert.    To my mind, its the consumers who lack sufficient Critical Thinking skills or maybe have an overwhelming need for confirmation that enable the presence of some young, snot-nosed brat know-it-all as someone who actually influences the behaviour of someone else.
