4 Seasons vent

Greetings all,

My 4 seasons leaks. I have timber damage and plywood damage. I read via google that the top panel can be removed  on some older models by remvong the poprivets in the corners.  Min is a newer model and doesnt hav ethe po rovets.  There does look like there may be something in the corners (from underneath) that could be screws but there is a cover (i think its a cover) over them.  Has anyone had success in removing the top.  I would like to be able to so that I can then poke my head up from inside the caravan ro remove sealant and screws on the roof rather than perching my 66 year old frame up a ladder and on the roof.

Any and all assistants is appreciated.

regards

Adrian

Adrian, from the sound of it you have an older style. I cannot locate any videos with instructions
It may be easier to replace the entire unit.

U Tube have video on new style www.youtube.com/watch

Thanks Possum3
in light of ongoing potential issues with the four seasons, has anyone replaced it completely with a different hatch? Ive googled for similar sized hatches but am coming up blank. 630x630mm seems to be outside what is seen as normal. I am contemplating getting one of htese www.ebay.com.au/itm/304601415160%3AAQAIAAABEN%2FV58dX1C1WEd7DUpxRnTYCbUdc2MVL3HlSKmIF3JpUFURYyxiaa35QVT5McKGJ1bniEyDqypATiQAkgZfSaMTsAtu%2BHehfZkeWmyATwJqPgLEwfbQLhytkn5QKnkBUtO%2Fci%2B1RCw2dDVdY%2F4PgFnr244ddYctr87LhggoJE%2BlHxU8lgKIioERTw2fTscR1eWpS4yI5M8FFZ%2FnEebtWF%2BA%2FaEF%2BMDW8OI0tIyIQfSyR62B5OxJhD32wXAf8bBPRg9E5KAeVhwgWPKcdA63cb149vgkLhyGExGBjThB4K1VdGhi83f3tyFZz1Brw84XpuHvTy2BcHbiAYXpPnqoJjIO7GqWYu2b75m8nsJfEJDvu%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5i60Ln5Yg
and making the hole bigger to suit.
Thoughts?
Regards

Whatever you do, you will have to ensure that the roof is strong enough for new unit to be attached - you may have to build a support frame to screw into.

Have a look at ship Chandlers for hatches:
