They must have drilled through the top of the fuel tank to drop the bolts through, so two sets of holes. Fuel tank will be in front of rear axle. I think even a bush carpenter could knock up proper towbar!

Weight could have been saved by using drainpipe instead of that heavy box section. No doubt the tank is well secured so spot welding to it is a great solution as well. I wonder if it is petrol or diesel.

Nothing wrong with bolts into the fuel tank either. Just a bit of sealant and it will be fine.

Looks to me, Tony, to be the floor of a car's  boot?

There appears to be another, unused,  hole near the rear of the car.

The plug is similar to plugs installed in car boots some years ago, and a close-up appears to show no sealant around the bolt holes.

Getting  issued with a Roadworthy could be "interesting". Cheers

you are assuming it is the fuel tank I'm with Yobarr on this one. all it needs is a road worthy and will be good to go!

Very suspect, looks like it's bolted to the spare wheel well. Perhaps ok for a light trailer.

The fuel tank is usually under the back seat on more modern cars. That tow hitch would maybe just work to reverse a small sailing dingy into the water. maybe ok if he lived around the corner.

Wazza..
