Heads UP "LinkT app for toll roads"

Be aware I use the LinkT app to pay for my infrequent toll road use.

All of a sudden I received a message to click a link to check my recent Toll use statement.

First off I will never click on a link in an email or massage if I'm unsure of the sorce, what makes me even more wary is I have not used a toll road since January, and there is credit on my app to get out of qld.

It's a timely reminder never click on a link in anything if you are unsure of the source.

Good advice Gundog.

There have been numerous warnings about scams involving the name "Linkt" and tolls in the messages and the real Linkt is regularly stating to enter their website by their official pathway only, not to use any tabs on messages received.

Linkt have a special location on its website where people can report scams.  I recently received a message about my available toll credit being low but I know my availabLe toll balance is automatically topped up, so I was not concerned. Coincidentally or not, the scam message came not long after I had used an infrequent trip over the Gateway Bridge. I reported the scam message to Linkt.

Also with your internet. I got two emails yesterday to say my credit card was not working for them to pay for my internet. Woke up straight away that the two emails were only 40 minutes apart and when you look at the address that sent them they were two different addresses. I went into my internet websites and of course, there were no invoices listed for me to pay. Scammers at their worst. I will not click on any links I am unsure of. My infrequent E-Toll has quite a bit of credit so I just check it monthly along with my monthly statements.

I get the occasional toll road scam. Haven't used a toll road for a decade.  The credit card originally attached to account has long ceased to exist. So scams on every level.
