Due to the fact that so many threads have been closed of late most of them in the Digress category, may I humbly suggest the name be changed to "How to knit the perfect Jumper"? Much more appropriate????

What a great idea, could you expand it to say "how to knit the perfect jumper while standing atop Ayres Rock"? other suggestions would be welcome.

I guess some threads need to be shut down if they get a bit personal and nasty.
I lost 10 minutes of my life reading one particular long-winded waffle on the most recently barred thread and I am none the wiser for it.
Also exacerbated by the fact so many terrible decisions have been made by our esteemed "leaders" (not) that have probably divided and put this formerly fair country back 100 years after many years of progress and forward thinking.
Although unfortunately we are now also blessed with the presence of a new "woke" community, many of whom are out dancing with the pixies with their one sided inner city view of the world.
There are many different points of view and we are all allowed to have our own thoughts and direction.
The most recent ridiculous spending of taxpayers money wasted on a divisive and ill thought out procedure does not help anything in the area of fair debate either.

Think also that a lot of the information and opinion has now been adapted from the U.S. in the last five years or so and tagged as "misinformation".
The opinion bullies use misinformation now as a mantle for discrediting anyone else's opinion by dragging it down as non-factual - in their eyes.
Some information that was tagged recently as "misinformation" did in fact have a historical basis of truth, but I think Aussies are way too savvy to fall for the opinion police to twist the facts to their advantage as perceived B.S.
There seems to be a tide of he who speaks loudest is right and every other humble opinion or personal belief is wrong.
In my eyes now, I would like to see leaders with strength, conviction and honesty move to the top of the tree. J.N.P is the one I want as a new P.M.
Tells it as it is, tells the truth.

A good chance that this thread too will be closed for exactly the behaviours you both complain of & repeat yourself. If your posts, posing as opinion but including derogatory attack on those who hold different opinions to yours is not a perpetuation of  polarisation & division then I'm a monkey's uncle.

 You've got that right, Ronald.

"Say what you mean, and mean what you say".

This has been my philosophy for many years, but always I try to :-

"Listen to others, even the dull and ignorant. They too have their story".

Unfortunately, this sometimes takes a lot of patience. Cheers.

Cuppa. Sometimes truth hurts. Sometimes you have to take one on the chin. You always seem to twist discussions around to always fit your dialogue only.
