My saga with E9 fault on camec hws has almost arrived at the point where I am considering surrender and buying a new one. Any recommendations for a reliable and efficient unit. Thanks.
Quick, easy and cheap modifications to my van's water pipes to accommodate fast connection / disconnection of this instantaneous gas hot water system.
The unit has a sturdy, inbuilt 'handle'. I fitted two metal hooks to the van's rear wall, applying urethane to the back of the hooks before screwing them on to the van.
The unit is shielded from the weather by the van's rear window 'flap'.
One of my van's two gas bottles sits on a 'GasFoot' stand on the ground directly below the hot water system.
The unit only services my van's shower (located at the rear of the van).
When traveling and stopping at places for a day or three, I use the van's (small capacity) built-in hot water unit and the instantaneous gas hot water system is stored in the van's front 'boot'. The van's hot water unit does not last long enough for showering during cold weather.
Three years of trouble-free use thus far, and it's still going strong.
Thanks Mein. I did think of doing something like this a few years ago as a pre heater set up as when we are in really cold areas the temp rise of the unit we have onboard is not sufficient. Unfortunately on the road now and doing a job like this is out of the question. Thanks for your help. cheers.
