RE: Another WDH question

That was a good article by Les Schwab that Gundog posted. Les seems to really know his stuff when it comes to to 4WD et al.

Yes I thought what a lot of BS changing 4 tyres at a time. I have learnt something today.

To understand why this matters, imagine two people out for a walk. Both are wearing fitness trackers that monitor the distance they travel and the number of steps they take. However, one of them is taller and has longer legs. By the end of the workout, they might cover the same distance, but the taller walker will have taken less steps to get there.

That's exactly what happens when the wife and I go for a walk together , I take a longer stride than her the Strava app on our phones always records  quite a few less steps for me.

With my Dmax , I had another set of wheels and tyres , there was a difference in circumference of 17mm ( I think from memory ) that wasn't enough to upset the ESC  but the Dmax wasn't a AWD .

We have a Mazda Cx3 AWD and the Y62 Patrol , I keep a close eye on tyre wear and rotate regular .

Any modern vehicle that has ESC / TC , can have a issue uneven tyre wear

Yes Gundog we were thinking like you when first told about it.. thought they were just trying to get more money out of us! It has proved to be correct as we haven't had any more trouble since. About to head off again soon doing quite a few ks so hope all stays good. Fingers crossed.
