Just the same as parking at the supermarket or any other public parking spot.

Its one of the many things you need to take into consideration when you are choosing the type

of vehicle to purchase for your travels and how to set it up. there is no perfect set up they all have there pro's and cons.

Absolutely! As Ken said in the post before  yours, if you are not actually there then surely any spot is not "yours".

For heavens sake, where do all these apparently entitled persons intend to draw the line?

You do not "own" the spot. First up, best dressed. Suck it up. Cheers.

Really good point you raised there. Just like folks using a generator. don't like it. suck it up and move if not to your liking  biggrin

No-one is pinching it if you are not there utilising the spot.

It is not your spot if you are not there using it.

So, what some are saying is that leaving table & chairs is NOT a sign that the spot IS in use. You can hardly expect people to carry a sandwich board with ' In Use ' written on it!

Does that mean , if you parkup your van, unhook drive off or leave the area, for whatever reason, then I come along and decide I like your spot and then shift your van and reverse mine into it, then thats ok?. After all you're not there utilising it and you don't own it.

Chuck a grenade into the discussion Basher, no one would do what you suggest is credible.

In theory, it is the same as shifting a table and chairs left behind, which a lot of people do not seem to have too much of a problem with if moved. So why not your van? :)

Try leaving a table and chairs in a parking spot at a shopping center to reserve a parking spot, for when and if you come back, and see how you go. whereas I think if you left a locked caravan there it would probably be quite safe ( in most places ) maybe the fact that it is a registered vehicle has something to do with it ???

Simple

If its empty take it, if there is something on it leave it alone.

You expect others to leave it alone if it was you.

A little bit of etiquette and common sense

Hi some silly comments here in my opinion. There are no rules to free camping except for common curtesy. I have had no problems but there are some people who have no common curtesy and like to push in and take anything that they want. Hmm time to move on in my opinion.

There are  7,656,127 square klms of mainland Australia and I always find a place to put the MH. If I come back to a nice place after going away then I just select a suitable spot that is free or keep driving if full. We do not think we are owed any special place.
