Kebbin, please point to where someone was telling porkies. Pretty obviously large numbers of people are annoyed by the ABC coverage and the presenters. So the subject is a reasonable one for discussion. Your comments point to nothing specific and on that basis it looks to me like you are just being an agitator.

The only thing that I have to add, is that whilst Stan Grant's views of the world do not always align with mine, racist attacks on the man or for that matter, on anyone is unacceptable and entirely inappropriate. People have vastly divergent views on most subjects, but we should be able to have an intelligent discussion on a subject without playing the man. Sometimes we just have to agree to disagree and move on.

I didnt hear any media calling out the horrible personal attacks on various Liberal leaders of the past or the current liberal leader, but they line up very quickly join the pile on.

I have an issue biased opinion based reporting by the ABC in general, hence on my TV I deleted all ABC channels, and never watch 7,9 or 10 news, I only watch FTA TV when Football is on. Otherwise I get my news from the various online feeds, and entertainment from other online feeds. Occasionally I watch parliment question time.

As far as I can see Stan Grant and Lydia Thorpe are as bad as each other.

I do have to agree.

It would appear too that many in the "Yes" camp with regards the Voice referendum seem to get very personal with anyone having an opposing view.
That denigrates their cause no end, in fact it is one of the reasons I will vote No aside from the fact that it is race based.

Agree, and incredibly divisive. That's  the sad reality. Yep, a NO from me.

Agreed with that comment, and I will also vote no, but more for a complete unwillingness to provide any information on makeup, what it can and cant comment on, what are the requirements of Parliament to take the advice, what happens if they dont take it, and will the treaty lead to more money (or reparations) and how that will be worked out.

I also note that it is not just this discussion where opposing view or the no option, get howled down with name calling. Just look at this forum sometimes.

Would a book release benefit from some pre- publicity? Just before the Ginger Wingers book came out, there was a bit of a kerfuffle.

when it comes to more money will more money fix it? Warren Mundine was on Q&A and stated that 30.3 billion is dedicated to indigenous people in the budget and said that was for approx 500,000 Aboriginals if my maths are correct that would work out to over $60,000 per person ,so i do not think more money will fix any problems, by the time all the hands have been in the bin there is very little left for the people in the bush who could put it to good use.

I agree that more money is not an answer or option, I just expect that it will become a big part of the next few years of this negotiation, if the Voice gets up.

All I see happening is the same as now, with a different name, and no improvements for those out of the cities.

People who didn't watch the abc coronation coverage need to view this video clip.

On this historic occasion the abc got it wrong in so many ways, the preamble ramble started with criticism of the cost of the coronation and degenerated in to a whinge fest from the 3 black presenters who chose to air their personal views on the event and the monarchy.

They are entitled to present their own personal views, however this was not the time nor the place to do so.

The abc now has one less viewer, not my abc.

Thanks for putting this utube up, Santa

It was a looooong utube, nearly six and a half hours

I watched up to nearly the first 3 hours, until the Australian site, turned over to the English site

I will agree that the Australian presenters, including Stan grant, could have been (probably were), pushing their own wheelbarrows

But, (being a white, overseas born, Australian Citizen), I did not feel that I was insulted by what they were saying, in fact I thought that Stan Grant, was being respectful to the modern day Monarchy

I await his books coming to an op-shop, so that I can have a read of them

Although I am not a Stan Grant fan some of the comments on here are bordering on being very, questionable, in my opinion.
After sitting on the side here for many years I have just registered for possible only one comment.
I am not surprised by the many "vote no" comments, this is a subject that requires deep thought and consideration.

Sadly I feel the levels of compassion, intelligence and decency needed are lacking on this subject by some.
The same old familiar names coming out with the same old predictable hidden prejudices.

Agree Santa, He appears to have got of to a bad start.

By the way Basher, I, like many others who will be voting NO have given very much deep thought & consideration in coming to that decision.

Cheers Cobber.
