Avida motorhome

Hi

After buying a new motorhome from Avida and after reading about  issues with other  products from Avida as well  I must express my shocked by the poor quality of our Avida motorhome

It seems that this industry is unregulated in that they seem to be immune from most consumer laws . I now have to either forget the motorhome dream and sell it and go back to travelling overseas as it has certainly opened my eyes to these companies sales tactics

Welcome to Nomads silverton.

I'm sorry you have learned about AVIDA the hard way. It has been listed as worst of the worst by Lemon Caravans site. I am unaware of which Jurisdiction you are in, but NCAT (or your State equivalent) have successful cases lodged against their product/s.

Under Australian Consumer Law you may have a chance of replacement or refund - It is worth investigating further.

Welcome to GN forum The silverton,

There may be a few mature members who may not agree with the Lemon Caravans Facebook site but after seeing the awful sagas featured, they can't all be made up. As well Possum has referred you to the site.
I would suggest you look it up & see what is written about your choice of mobile abode, & see if you can gain some assistance. You could also try your local federal MP, perhaps the one whose seat covers where the Avida factory is.

Your saga is the second of the same brand that has appeared here in the last week!

Mind you, there are lots of Lemons being towed around - mine is one of the known baddies but so far my second hand unit is ok (I fixed the two roof leaks that showed up on our last run).

A friend in Townsville bought a "Lemon" caravan of a well known brand - she was lucky that she could lock the van away for a year & that she wasn't the pushover that the dealer & manufacturer thought she was. She beat them & got a new caravan free of dramas out of them.

I wish you well.
