Iwas attacked by a microbat, it tried ever so hard to get inside my sloppy jo, head piece, during a sunny day, I was bitten, went to hospital, kept in overnite, during the hendra virus scare, luckily no infection, so it should include bats.
This video may interest some. it's a 16 minute 'Ted Talk' on Australian snakes given by a friend of ours, Dr Christina Zdnenek - one of Australia's leading toxicologists. She is in charge of a department dealing with venom from all sorts of creatures at the University of Qld. (She is also the world's leading authority on Palm ****atoos). In this talk she tells why in Australia we are lucky to have the types of venomous snakes which other countries don't have, giving explanation as to why not a single snake made that top 10 list of our deadliest animals. She is a bit nervous 'on stage' which is surprising as in everyday life she is like a female version of Steve Irwin! A different person when dressed in her usual khaki!
