I have a south facing side of my van where the white silicon sealant around by boot has turned black with mould. Other than cut and scrape it out and replace it, is there easier or simpler solutions
Looking fw to hearing from you guys out there
Regards
Ron
Selley's Rapid Mould Killer, Bunnings about $8, spray on, leave on for 5 minutes, then wipe off with a wet clean cloth then dry, best mould cleaner and killer out there. Use gloves and mask, as it is pretty strong. Also good for mould on van exterior walls, awnings, chairs, anything.

I use vinegar mixed about cup full in few litres of water.
Strangely mould will grow quite happily inside silicone sealant. Unless you purchase a silicone like Bathroom and Kitchen or Wet Area Sealer that contains a mould growth inhibitor.
You may find this very difficult to eradicate. Don't forget that many of the liquids others have suggested may react with components of your van. Physical removal and replacement although time consuming maybe the best alternative.
The best sealant to use where silicone has already been used, is another silicone, as many other sealants will not adhere correctly to the substrate if silicone is still present, even a very thin film..

Works a treat!

Thanks again everyone
Ive decided after considering all options to just cut the old moulded silicone out , cleaned it thoroughly let it fully dry then re siliconed it with opaque Selleys silicone that has a mould inhibitor in it and it came up like new
All the best
