I seem to have the same problem when getting in and out of modern Sedans.

Legs first might have been a better option!

That's my wife getting out of our daughters' cars!

Everybody laughs at her in our Ranger, but she can get into it using a folding step. Then getting out she simply turns sideways and slides down.

But she has to be lifted out from our girls' low sedans - and they are not even low-slung sports cars. Even most taxis cause her problems.

That's the technique that I use to get up after working under the van. I usually take a pillow with me to help with a stiff neck when lying on my back working on whatever.

But then you aught to see me helping my fishing mate get out of his sit inside Kayak.

Getting into my Mazda3, I have to put my bum in first, swing in the left leg & then use my hands to lift in the right leg.  Getting out is always the legs first & then push down on the seat & dash to lever the body out.

Just a bit more dignified than he method in the vid.

Me too with my road car, but the 79's seat is 970mm off ground, so no such problems there. Cheers
