Sad Memories

In 2018 we spent a few weeks in Cairns. On a few days we drove up to Port Douglas & the Daintree River in the SUV that we'd hired.

We didn't realize it at the time but Toyah Cordingley's body was probably on Wongetti Beach when we took this photo from Rex Lookout.

On the way back to Cairns the area was swarming with Police & SES combing the area for evidence. There was no road block at the time.

As we got close to Cairns CBD there was a flashing sign  over the highway with DID YOU SEE TOYAH.  We thought that they were advertising TOYOTA & the sign was malfunctioning.

We didn't find out about her murder until that night while watching TV.

It showed CCTV footage taken on the morning of her murder at the large fruit & vegetable market in Cairns.

We'd been to that market early on the very same morning.

Hopefully the accused can be extradited back to Australia to face justice but it may be a long process.

The older we get, the more noticeable the coincidences and deja-vu moments become, what is interesting (or not) totally depends on the audience.
