As the title suggests, a small selection of water loving birds taken on our travels.

Kelp Gull, Gunnamatta Ocean Beach VIC. These birds introduced themselves from overseas where they are known as Dominican Gulls. A common sound track to British TV shows like Doc Martin.

Caspian Tern, Murray River mouth, The Coorong SA. A worldwide species & the largest Tern in the world.

Australian Gannet, Port Phillip Heads VIC. These diving birds have blue goggles around their eyes which close before hitting the water. Many young birds are found washed up on beaches with broken necks.

 Taken on the lake beside the river on Warrawong On The Darling station just outside of town.

There would be thousands of Avocets currently at Menindee Lakes now that they are full of water.

Here's a map of where they occur. The darker the blue, the more of them there are.

Tip Turkeys are high on my " dont love list", drink the acid from the recycle battery station at our tip, then drop it from on high, car roof, concrete, even the lawn cops the s... .
