Hi folks, hope you are all warm and dry. So, my wife and I are tired of setting up the camper trailer and have started looking for a caravan. A quick trip to a dealership in Brisbane gave us quiet a shock, at the price and the 10-12 month waiting time. And as a result we are now looking for a second hand caravan.
So far we have looked online and at the dealers south of Brisbane and there are many in our price range of up to about 26K - 30K. There are cheaper ones as well dating back to the early 2000's. Do you think the chassis, flooring, and roof sealing of these now 20yr old caravans would still be a safe buy. We have very modest requirements, single axle, no longer than 6.1m (to fit in the front yard without upsetting the local council) and no requirement for a toilet or shower.
There are some gems out there to be purchased at a great price.
Low mileage, always garaged, well maintained, problems sorted units.
Our son bought one about a year ago, he now owns a caravan better than Mum & Dads at less than half the price that they paid years ago.
