towing mirrors, yes again.

Hi, Im looking to get a set of extendable mirrors, i know Clearview are considered the best ones but has anyone brought the ones from The Partsman in SA, and if so what are they like.

Thanks

Didnt get them from the Partsman, but did get a pair of eBay knockoffs for our 100 Series.

Had them on for 3 years now, doing bitumen and dirt (Strzelecki, Flinders, and some other very rough roads and tracks) and been pleased with them.

San Hima work very well for us, manual extend / retract but still has all the electric mirror adjustment and a very reasonable price.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of choice in mirrors for the Pajero, I looked around when we bought our NX Paj and found the range for any of the major accessories fairly limited i comparison to Toyo, Ford, etc.

Ive had the cheapies, the goodies and now back to the cheapies. I cant remember where I got them them from but they are similar to the strap on ones at RTM for under 40 bucks. They have taken me all over Australia including Cape York for 3 caravans and 2 cars. I found the Milencos problematic because one of them would never adhere properly when attached. The straps on the cheapies fix that problem.

Also on an NX Pajero, I have the Clearview power folds and absolutely love them.
That being said, I use the power fold function in car parks and on 4wd tracks (not towing) as I do actually use my 4WD as a 4WD.
In carparks, they do definitely stick out too far, even at the minimum setting! People moving through between vehicles invariably knock them and risk damage to the mirror locks.

Hi wombat50,

They are Clearview knock offs and are excellent...I got a pair through Ebay for $450.00 delivered.

Just go & buy a cheap pair of strap ons from Autobarn, BCF or Supacheap Auto. I bought some 30 years ago for $25 & they still work fine. Two camper trailers, a 17ft half cabin boat & our caravan, probably a total of more than 200,000kms covered, they still work fine.
Buy yourself a few slabs of beer or a few dozen bottles of wine with the money saved.
