LPG at Bourke

Hi All

I am heading towards Bourke and wondered if any one knows if any of the petrol stations at Bourke has LPG

I have been through there a few years ago and am fairly sure I filled up with LPG there

Cheers rasa

Mr Google tells me that Caltex in Anson St supplies LPG. Cheers

get an app called petrol spy if you have a smart phone, or go here petrolspy.com.au/.

When I had LPG car I did all my forward planning on this.

NOTE: sometimes its wrong, so don't trust it 100%.

Another is 'FuelMapAustralia' I use it most of the time and is updated by users. I also have 'PetrolSpy' but don't use as much.

You can set it for whatever fuel you need or just set for all.

These apps are only as good as users updating the sites.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there (happy updating)

We did the Nullarbor and Western Australia in 2019 (from SA) I had planned that trip mid 2017 with reference to the app "Fuel Map" as we have petrol/ gas 2001 land cruiser, on reaching some of the destinations north of Perth, LPG that was once shown as available was then not, tanks evident but none available.

I questioned several operators to be told that Caltex had closed approximately 400 LPG sites Australia wide, on return to SA after 13000 Kms I wrote to the RAA about this and was informed that as more cars were being produced as diesel and that Holden and Ford had closed their operations in Australia and as they were the major makers of dedicated LPG vehicles there was less need for the supply of LPG.

I was under the assumption that LPG was a great "green" alternative and was heavily promoted earlier on, it seems to me that some motoring organizations need to have more clout.

Crazy . Thing is diesels can run a little on it too as additive . Lengthens fuel consumption . Better burn .

I ran a Colorado on gas over diesel, worked very well (IMO) a definite increase in torque was evident. The vehicle was sold on to a Mate who did the opposite 1/2 lap to us and when he sold it told me that gas was getting hard to find.. I have been told that gas sales are well under 2% of all fuel sales now, the taxi industry going hybrid had a lot to do with the current situation. Servo's being upgraded are removing the gas pumps, and new servo's don't include them.

rasa,
I agree with Doug as far as fuel map goes - it's excellent. Without knowing how far north you are driving, you really need this app as getting gas is harder. North of Tully (FNQ), you can just about forget it. There was a BP on the southern side of Cairns but I suspect that has dried up too.
I had diesel-gas injection on both of my last two Patrols.

What surprised us was the availability & cheaper price of LPG in Victoria.
