You cannot help people unless they are willing to a least try to help themselves first off. When I go shopping I would say that there is maybe 5% maximum people wearing a mask in a place where it would be more likely to catch covid.

I have read about people catching Covid 3 to 4 times but they only have a look backwards when something goes wrong, to late then. Long Covid is a huge problem for those of us in the 60+ age group, imagine having some of the symptoms for months and years.

We know what works when dealing with it, like washing hands regular and wearing a mask when out and about is no big problem, except of course for those imbeciles that think they are having their rights impeded on.

The difference that masks make:

In civilised societies like Singapore, Japan and South Korea (all of which I've lived in), nobody whines about having to wear a mask. In fact in South Korea it's a common courtesy.

Sydney Northern Beaches. Same day I was in supermarkets in Mosman (wealthy suburb) & a very high percentage were wearing masks.

Then in Balgowlah effectively one suburb away over a bridge (not as wealthy but still well off) hardly anyone wearing masks.

I was wearing a mask.

I still wear a mask, when I go into shops, or any other crowded places

My opinion is, (that at my age), I am better off not catching covid

I agree that not many are wearing masks, and the ones who I see wearing them, are mainly older people

My understanding is that wearing a mask is more about protecting other people, which is why close contacts have to wear a mask for a week after they have been in contact with a case.

My hubby has had Covid (mildly as he's is 4 times vaxed) and I only went out when I absolutely had too, which meant I missed a funeral, but I didn't want to be a spreader.
I didn't get it even though we live in a tiny place but I'm 4 times vaxed too.

All reasonable governments of the world have completely underestimated the virus and the extent of the variants which can be triggered by design, generally by other circumstances.
Along with this comes the underestimation by reasonable governments of the Chinese and their quest to take over the world.
To assume we are going to live with this is for the most extremely foolish. To generate the next strain of the virus is as simple as having a carrier fly in to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane airport.

The most disappointing part of all of this Covid spreading in our country is that we are an ISLAND.
Many of these governments of the world think that when dealing with China they are dealing with a government when in actual fact they are dealing with an extremely dangerous dictatorship. It is not an elected government in China.

China is laughing at us all.
I hope the button will be pushed before we all have the button pushed on us.

The world population is suffering a *death by a thousand variants*
