Caravan choices ??????

{ Need To Get a Life 2 }.......Just got back from a 3 weeks away, and continued something we started a while back..... counting the variety of caravans/campers makers on the road, not brand models, or Camper RV's, just Van manufacturers.

We just counted " 173 " different maker on the road, and many more we didn't catch the name off while driving along on the highway.  173 makes so far counted, and vastly more if you take in the various makers models as well.  Some were old and builders probably no longer in business, but there are many new makes/models on the market. It makes me wonder with lax Caravan Regulations, and so many manufacturers trying to compete with one another, and likely taking shortcuts to save dollars,  just how many Lemons are out there ? Many look very flashy, but on closer inspection many are of questionable quality ?

This is the only caravan forum I regularly post to and it's rare I see a post here concerning more than minor problems with new-ish vans. My own Snowy River van in which I have lived for 3.5 years has only had a couple of minor problems in that time and those were five minutes fixes by me.

That sounds like a positive for Chinese vans. But I know of 3 new van buyers, one being my brother who got shafted badly resulting in $$$$$ court battles, and that was with a  top of the line Van of a  well known manufacturer. Many reviews on the internet seem to indicate problems are commonplace, with many makers, and often major. Even scarier is my brothers lemon Van resulted in being settled in court at large cost, he won the case, got reimbursed, and then the van got resold to some other poor sucker ?
