I'd like to comment on my local Ford dealers after sales service & scheduled mechanical services regime.
They were absolutely terrible.
No way would I buy another Ford.
We had a Ranger.
Stick with Isuzu, they have a well deserved reputation.
Have both of you tried other mechanical workshops other than the dealerships?
Some of us in Townsville have had not so good experiences with the dealers & have gone elsewhere. Providing the same OE materials have been used, the dealer shouldn't have any grouch - except to correct the problems.
A friend who has a MUX has gone to an offshoot of the dealership & has found 100% satisfaction.
86GTS, it is the car that has the reputation - not the dealers. And I had issues with the "Masters" - Isuzu Ute when I was looking at fitting a catch can to my car. To shut them up, I said the dealer recommended the unit. And the unit I was looking at was fitted to a small Isuzu truck!

When I took my Ranger to be serviced by my local Ford dealer, as I dropped it off I spoke to the female Service Manager.
She said, don't talk to me, I don't know anything about cars.
She also said that it would cost me $50 extra to check the brakes on a routine service.
I again asked , was she the dealership Service Manager & she confirmed that she was.
The services that I had there were a "tick the box exercise".
Thanks for your comments,I have just ordered a BT50 Sp,
To Warren ,yes my first Dmax was serviced by aftermarket and dealer(early on)in fact it was
an aftermarket workshop that I was helping in part time(semi retired mechanic and business manager).
Still cracked head at 70000km just out of warranty by weeks and Isuzu not interested.
Unfortunately in the aftermarket world we here this all the time from customers, mainly lack of care and interest.
Thanks anyway.

Hi Rhys. You do, of course, realise that the BT50 has the 3 litre Isuzu motor? Unless, of course, you chose the tiny 1900cc engine, also built by Isuzu. My experience with Isuzu is that they make very good gear. Cheers

Why blame the car for a bad dealership. Change dealership like we did, no problem.
