what is the smallest inverter required to charge a 5 AH 18 volt ryobi rechargeable battery?

Have a look on the charger to see what power is required, I use a 600W for my Makita 18V batteries.

You also need to ascertain whether you need a pure sine wave inverter. I have batteries that can only be charged with the pure sine wave inverter.

Better buying something bigger than the smallest required just for a charger. 600w would give you more useage. Would also suggest buying a pure sine wave inverter to use with electronics. There are a few different chargers around, check the size of your one.

My Ryobi 18V charger is rated at 55W, so a 300W inverter would be plenty.

A 150W inverter would do it but, it seems, 300W is cheaper and a more useful size in any event.

thanks i thought a 300 to 500 watt would cover the job. it's for use in the canopy when away from base so was trying to avoid over kill
