Podcast

Over the last few months the Pentagon in the USA has made some startling admissions regarding UFOs, now referred to as UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena).

Sightings and photographs taken by the navy pilots from USS Nimitz and USS Princeton have now resulted in the Pentagon conceding that there are physical objects appearing in their air space which they cannot identify and have therefore commenced an investigation into what they might be. They have ruled out the possibility that the objects are from another country.

The investigation is only going back as far as 2014. I imagine this is to prevent any investigations into cover ups and denials dating back to the late forties, especially the incident at Roswell.

There is an interview with the Australian investigative journalist Ross Coulthart of Four Corners and Sixty Minutes fame. I found this interview on Project Unity, which is available for free on Spotify. I downloaded the Spotify app and then tuned into this podcast. The podcast goes for about two hours and covers not only the recent sightings but the suggestion that the USA are reverse engineering UFOs that have either crashed or come into their military's possession. There is also an extensive look at sightings and commentary regarding Pine Gap and the North West Cape tracking at Exmouth in WA.

It is a really good listen without any hysteria, dramatic claims or wild assumptions. The interview is based on the interviews Mr Coulthart had with a former US Defence Chief and a former US Intelligence Chief.

Also on that same podcast site is an excellent interview with the owner or Skinwalker Ranch in Utah. That is really interesting.

G'day bigD,

FYI, I was beamed up to a spaceship many moons back and found the little guys very nice indeed. They asked heaps of questions and inserted a hard drive into my head then beamed me back down. I spose they will beam me up again when enough data has filled the hard drive.

OH! They weren't green either.

Keep Safe out there.

That is a interesting post Dmaxer....I will have a listen to that podcast for sure.

It is the ultimate question....are we alone?

Considering the the numbers when you start to talk about the universe....they are mostly beyond the average persons comprehension.

The universe is about 14 billon years old....the Earth is about 4 billion years old....the modern human race is about 100 000 years old...a totally insignificant amount of time.

There are many millons, if not billions of Earth like planets. Do any of them have human like beings? Because we exist....then the answer is yes.

Have they travelled to Earth, maybe they have technology we have no idea about, who knows.

There is a theroy that, because civilisations come and go...(we are in the start of the six mass extinction which will see human beings demise. How long will that take? The way we are going with climate change, wars etc....not long...two, three, four hundred years maybe more.) the overlap for different civilisations to exist  at the same time is unlikely....i.e we have died out before another alien life form has visited here.

Conversely...there maybe any amount of aliens getting about the universe and have visited us. Who knows...it would certainly shake the world up if contact was made.

Collo.

I agree Colli. The fact that the sightings are by military personnel and that the Pentagon has set up an investigation is quite telling. In the past it was usual practice to dismiss all sightings as weather balloons or ice crystals but this time the head of the US Navy has said of the 146 recent sightings, only 3 can be explained. If you get a chance have a listen to the retired F18 squadron leader from the USS Theodore Roosevelts air crew and his account of chasing UFO near Florida only to have their radar jammed. Really interesting stuff. If it is not to your liking Craig there are some Wiggles podcasts you could sing along to.

Whilst I fully understand that many on this forum are not interested in strange sightings or suggestions that there are unknown phenomena in our skies, just pause and reflect on this.

The US Congress has now passed a bill that has progressed through the Senate and been signed into law by the President. Under the Intelligence  Authorisation Act there is an appropriation of 2.3 trillion dollars to enable the Pentagon and the various arms of the military to not only investigate the rapid increase of UAP in the US airspace but to impose on them the requirement to report to a select committee of Congress regarding all sightings and evidence and a further funding to allow re engineering of any phenomena that may come into the hands of the military. The initial report to the committee is to be forthcoming within 90 days and then at least two reports every 12 months. The reports will be classified and the committee will be a small number of bipartisan politicians.

This funding and the setting up of the committee did not come about because of tin foil hat fanatics but is based on the numerous encounters experienced by the USS Nimitz, the USS Theodore Rooseveldt and the USS Princeton and sightings around strategic military and nuclear bases. The officers of these ships encountered UAP travelling at Mach 5 speeds in their immediate airspace and were unable to be identified by their naval pilots or their sophisticated sensors and radars. It was also stated that they have been identified by military satellites. It obviously concerns the Americans.

There are some other really good podcasts that contain interviews with military chiefs and officers who have experienced this phenomena and have no explanation for its existence only that it is "not ours and not from this world".

It would seem the reaction from the Government agencies is starting to change. Up until recently, anyone who reported a sighting would usually be branded as a nut job and if a serving military person, it would be career ending. We have been conditioned to dismiss all these sightings as imagination or mistake but it would seem that the military and politicians of the USA now express a different sentiment.

Pretty interesting stuff.

Given the number of stars and planets in the universe it seems to me the presence of others creatures is inevitable - I mean... infinity divided by anything is a rather large number, is it not?

However given our closest star is four light years away it may be difficult to make contact with others and I am always cognisant of Douglas Adams' assertion in the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy that (to paraphrase) any civilisation with the advanced scientific capability to travel between the stars probably wouldn't bother coming here because we're not interesting enough.

It all depends on where we start Mike. If we presume that the speed of light is the fastest we can travel then that may be true. If these phenomena have different propulsion it could be a different scenario. If they were a few hundred years old and controlled by AI then who knows. If there is a fourth dimension then who knows. These phenomena when sighted by the military defied the laws of physics, there was no stream and although they were travelling at thousands of mph there was no sonic boom. Their speeds according to the radar sensors on the Nimitz exceeded 40,000 mph. Have a listen to the podcast from the Theodore Roosevelts officer. He is now in Navy Intelligence and he is joined by a former NASA physicist now an academic, just really interesting.

I saw an interesting argument some time ago. It goes something like this.

How long has it taken the Missing Link to branch off and evolve into a creature that is able to send a message to another star system? How long will such a civilisation survive before it destroys itself? I reckon the human race will have annihilated itself before the end of the century. That's a window of 100 years at best.

Now think of this "other" civilisation. What is the chance that their window coincides with ours? They would need to be no more than 50 light years away in order for there to be any chance of us receiving their return communication.

I dont think we can make assumptions based on our scientific knowledge alone. We dont know how intelligent other beings may be. If these phenomena can travel at speeds unknown to us, if they can jam our most sophisticated sensors, shut down nuclear missile silos then who knows what else they can do. I heard a physicist talking a while back and he was saying that if we imagined the world was one year old then single cell life would have evolved in April, dinosaurs in the period 4th to 20th December and humans at about 11.30pm on 31st December. The universe is approximately 4billion years old.

Another interesting, well for me anyway, is the Australian sighting at Westall High School in Victoria in 1966. A UFO about the size of two cars was spotted by several hundred students and a teacher. Apparently this phenomena hovered and then landed before taking off at great speed. About twenty years later the teacher stated that he had been visited by government officials and military personnel shortly after the sighting and told to keep quiet or his teaching days were over.

The US Congressional Committee set up to investigate unidentified aerial phenomena is having its first public meeting this week with the deputy directors for naval and defence intelligence being called for questioning. This initial meeting will be public so I don't imagine that too much will be disclosed but it certainly shows the US Congress is serious in finding out what is going on in its skies.

Surprisingly, this is the first investigation that has been spoken about publicly by the government for more than fifty years with the last investigation named publicly being Operation Bluebook.

It seems that it has now shifted from denial to an admission that they don't know what these things are or from whence they came.

Interesting times indeed.
