Years ago before 7 day trading in Qld, I would often head to town to stock up only to find that the shops were shut . bugger!
Now everything is open just about all the time.
I recall when Erina Fair began 24 hr trading. I went there one time and was amazed at the number of people doing their weekly shop at 2am
Like the workers said, they have the ligts and a/con on all the time while the shelves are restocked so why not allow shoppers in as well?
Now they stock shelves in normal hours, will not pay OT for night stockers, and woe betide you if you get in the way of a stocker or pick and packer for delivery or collect!!.
Me, I cannot remember how I found time to go to work

many years ago i was in MT ISA getting close to noon and all of a sudden the shops started to close i thought they must be closing for lunch?? didn't realize it was Saturday if you can think back to how 7 day trading came to pass it was probably GERRY HARVEY . he set his stores up so each dept was a franchise (under one roof) and as each one a small family business could trade 7 days a week ,the big companies cried foul went to court an we ended up with 24/7 trading
