Thats why VW had to pay big time fines !! When they programmed ecu to bypass emissions. Programmed to pass emissions but stopped after a short time . To prevent EGR carboning up !!! It worked but EPA wasnt impressed!! Wander if add blue can be watered down ? I know on my old pre combustion GM diesel. Water / Atleast 20% ethanol ( methylated sprits ) works fine at keeping engine clean . Can tell when I checked glow plugs and injectors !! Starts way faster now !

I put gas injection on both of my last two Patrols for the following reasons - to clean up the engine & reduce emissions, boost power & give me better fuel consumption but apparently with common rail diesels, that has become obsolete & Diesel-Gas Australia has closed up shop! I'm finding with the van on the back of the D-Mux that fuel consumption is on par, perhaps a little worse that the GU 4.2LTDi Patrol was!!
How many manufacturers are affected by the Ad-Blu debacle? I know Ford are; Mazda? Isuzu uses the DPF quite successfully.

All new model Mercedes Sprinters and most recent ones use AdBlue. I've been looking at Sprinters and joined some Australian-based Sprinter owner groups (primarily the campervan crowds). It's surprising how many owners don't know they use AdBlue.
It's rather unbelievable that manufacturers would place both diesel and AdBlue filler caps side by side isn't it ? At least Mercedes knew some of their customers would stuff up so you need a special tool to undo the AdBlue filler cap and the two liquid types are no where near each other. AdBlue filler is in the engine bay, diesel filler cap is behind the left hand door.
