Ok I have to play the devils advocate, First never ever use the term "common sense" and "People" in the same sentence, it's just wrong, a persons common sense is learnt, this makes them somewhat correct in what they are or have done whether it's right or wrong.

Unfortunately, we are all responsible of some form of bad doing in our life, until we are taught different, we keep doing what we know to be correct. laying blame only alienates those responsible, when we should just teach them a better way wink "hey are you interested in me helping you set that up? simple and not having a go at anyone wink as for people shting on the bowl and not in it? well they are just pigs lol Just saying education is the key to success.

On dairy farms its pumped back to paddocks or oxygen ponds . It doesnt go to sea anymore or shouldnt !! Theres far too much good nitrogen, compost !! If not cycled back to paddocks . The soil becomes sterile and nothing grows !! We actually need bacteria etc to survive! The sun and rain breaks bacteria down to acceptable level . You cant keep taking crops off without replacing !

What I'm seeing is a lot of cow poop concentrated in very small areas. Must be much worse than free camps. Different poop tho

The hole that Peter is digging is the neatest hole for a crap I have ever seen.

He could have a short post with a dunny roll on it alongside the excavation. biggrin

What Graeme probably is referring to is the effluent that is washed from dairy floors after each milking, and into large storage tanks, like septic tanks. When these tanks are full, the cow co-ky pumps the liquid out,and into large sh-t tankers towed by tractors, for "redistribution" onto the paddocks of the farm.Cheap fertiliser.Cheers

When we lived in an area where the houses were on septic tanks the *poo pumper* used to pump the tanks with one of those pictured above.

He would come around with a long vacuum hose, pop the lid and pump poop.

I'm assuming people with chemical toilets only dig holes (away from campsites and waterways) when they have too but mainly use dump points? Otherwise surely dumping toilet contents in a hole is not much different from not being self contained. I'm just asking, because I don't  know.

I'm not officially self-contained but take away (if there's no loo) all my pee and poo and loo paper (using ezygonow poo powder)(they have a 'toilet in a bag' so you can go hiking and bring your crap home), but I feel discriminated against because I water the fireplace with less than a litre of grey water that might have a stray piece of carrot in. 99% of the products I use are environmentally friendly and I cook in one pot.

I've said it before in other grey nomad sections, that I'm disappointed at the disgusting behaviour of some people, but it's not fair to blame, just the backpackers or people like me because rich or poor a grots a grot and I am not.

Yobarr,

Try using the space bar. It's the red thing.

Yobarr,
A little education for you. Being as one eyed as you are, I'm guessing you won't get past about 2 minutes.

https://youtu.be/pMJfwsGhDNw

P.S. this is a space bar.  Try using it. Like 99% of the population does. But I guess your "different",    right?

This is quite amusing! Would you be kind enough to highlight in my posts what you believe to be incorrect? For your information,I got an 'A' pass in English at High School,as it was known in those days.Got 'A' in maths too,and completed most of an Accountancy degree until I wanted to further my racing driver career,so dropped out! Cheers

I presume that you mean "damn basic" but I still don't understand what is wrong with the text above. Please explain. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with it,as far as I can determine? Do you have a problem with full stops,or commas? This is a genuine question.Mike Harding has a good understanding of the English language,so he may be able to help if he's not in the bush. Cheers
