hi everyone. I have just joined so please be easy on me.
I have a 2014 ranger that I have been towing a silverline with.
I have decided to replace the wdh so as the one I have is a ford unit I went back to ford
they say that the unit is no longer a part they have so I bought a Hayman Reece complete unit.
guess what it doesnt fit the ford tow bar the shaft on the h.r unit is far to long so I contact h.r to see if they have a hitch shaft to suit and they tell me I probably
should not be using weight distribution on the ford tow bar.ford cant tell me yes or no so I was wondering if anyone could help
perhaps someone with weight distribution on there ranger thanks
Sorry John I have missed this post, so welcome to the gang, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I have a Colorado and was told the same thing, not to use WDH on a Holden tow bar. I have heard similar to the Ford and even Nissan.
I had an extra leaf fitted to both rear leaf springs that raised the rear of Collie 2". As I connect the aluminium tent it drops nearly 2" and all is nice and level for towing. All has worked well for me for 7 years now with no sway etc.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hi John.Hopefully you have not yet wasted your money on a WDH? If you could supply your van's details,ATM,length, tare etc I can sort it for you. WDH are a mostly unneeded but totally misunderstood bit of gear.Cheers
