Stabiliser legs

I notice when looking around caravan parks that about half the caravans have the stabiliser legs vertical and half have them on an angle. We always put them on an angle because; a) back in the 1980's our family caravan had wind down legs which slowly rotated to make an angle with the ground, and b) the dealer had them at an angle.

We have ALKO drop down corner steady stabiliser legs, which rotate to a few set positions and then extend.

Is there any reason why you should use them vertical or at an angle.?

Derek,
Yes, in my opinion they should be vertical as they are stronger that way but sometimes due to uneven or sloping ground, it is not possible to get them vertical.
Cheers,
Roy.
