Stamps are my sanity check. I collect, buy and sell. I'll be taking things like a scanner, a printer and a supply of goodies on the road with me for those cold rainy nights.
Keep in mind that such items are usually 240V and can consume considerable energy.
I carry a simple laser printer which requires an inordinate amount of power when it starts, I haven't measured it but the generator certainly does a double-take when I switch it on.
I very nearly bought a scanner but discovered there are some good apps which use a mobile phone camera as a scanner. I have found the Adobe app to be the best and it's certainly good enough for archiving A4 pages but you may need higher resolution for stamps, worth checking out though.
PS. Ignore Wanda; he is probably, by far, the rudest person on this forum.

Thanks guys, good advice. My van has 4 solar panels, and I have one freestanding. The scanner is USB, so as long as my laptop's charged it'll work. The printer is a Brother ink cartridge model, and I only intend to use it when we're in a powered site.
I have to use a quality scanner to do this (1200dpi)
(thanks for the note re Wanda. There's ALWAYS one, as if they come with the software.........)

I also collect stamps and have done so for nearly 50 years, my avatar gives away my main collecting interest. I also buy and sell on a small scale to help fund my addiction!
COVID has delayed the start to our grey nomad life but we are about to become permanent grey nomads and I will certainly be taking some stamps, scanner and associated tools of the trade with me.
