MURWEH SHIRE - For detailed information on road conditions at any time please contact the Visitor Information Centre on (07) 4654 7771 or the RACQ or local Police Station.
Flood Safety Advice: Remember: If it's flooded, forget it. For flood emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. For life threatening emergencies, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
From now on, Qld is going into its wet season. The roads up there will continually be closed following heavy rain periods. The only site I look at for road information is the Department of Transport and Main Roads Interactive Map. This is continually updated by their traffic centre.

I'm using a 15" notebook but with browser windows about the same size as a 13" screen. The following screen grabs are what I see.
The NSW is not too bad but would be a lot better if I could remove the panel on the left.
The Qld is a disaster! Around 25% of the display devoted to a Qld government logo and pointless menu at the bottom. About 20% devoted to a site menu and text entry box. All these thing should be optional, a small menu button in the corner which allows the user to chose what he wants would be much better. No doubt developed by a web programmer aged about 25 on a dual 30" monitor system.
In any event, thanks for the links Peter I have bookmarked them.

I find the Qld website is clunky and very user unfriendly if using an IPad, and even more difficult on a phone.
We do carry a 15 laptop but it is usually packed away as we hardly ever use it now.
Prior to and after Cyclone Debbie there were so ,many roads closed, the IPad was just too hard to use due to information clutter so we had to access the laptop.
Apart from the site not being suitable for mobile devices I find it only just acceptable on the computer.
I think the designer of that site is keeping a skilled person out of a job.
Mike, your comments apply to any size screen, The map section takes much more manipulating then the NSW map. However, the NSW map also includes much of the Qld info.

Is it that hard to search for a place name and get a specific result ? Relying on map view is always difficult, gives way too much irrelevant information and insufficient relevant information. No one needs to know every road closure or alert and you need to drill down so why not start with a search that is meaningful to your travels ?
FWIW I rarely use my laptop, almost exclusively use my phone when on the move and might break out a tablet when camped at night. Never have an issue with navigating any road reports website.
