I just saw this and thought a few may be interested.
Looks like a great service,Possum,and I'm sure it will be of benefit to those who have little understanding of weights,but who are at least a little bit interested..However,past experience with other companies apparently providing a similar "service" is that it all is based on smoke and mirrors, designed to do nothing more than convince you that you need a GVM upgrade,or Airbags,or God forbid,a WDH to be legal and safe.None of them had any idea about the biggest limiting factor for most cars,which is rear axle carrying capacity.There is much deception around,with one chap that I was talking with today towing a 2600kg ATM van with a Prado."It can tow 3000kh mate" he proudly announced,so I queried his rear axle weight. "Oh,no problem there mate.I have only 160kg towball weight". So this chap is blissfully running around the countryside with 6% towball weight on a 22' van weighing 2600kg ATM.Spare me! Cheers
