With the burning feet, I have had to use cool paks basically ice paks, put in a flannel bag. Otherwise the ice burns, and doesn't help you. I also have numbness but with cramping as well. So far 10 years of it, I have not found anything to help with it other then taking Voost Magnesium caplets in water. It fizzes up and you drink it at maximum fizz. I have one a day, it eases it about 50%.

G`day Red Dog ,
I suffer from CIDP. and have done for 17 years now . You just have to get used to the burning pain and discomfort . Wearing loose fitting shoes helps . I have a bolster that goes in bed under the sheets at the foot of the bed to keep the sheets and doona off my feet . This helps tremendously at night . Soaking your feet in cold water also gives some relief . My hands are also affected . Initially my treatment was regular doses of IVIG . Hope this helps .
Cheers ,
Jontee .

My first lot of chemo destroyed the nerve endings in both feet. ( 5 years ago now ) I take lyrica BUT it has side effects and not 100% effective and you need a script. MAY work.

I suffer from neuropathy in my feet so can totally sympathize. As mentioned, I dose myself up with magnesium which does ease it to some extent and I find wearing a pair of light loose fitting socks to bed also helps. I do take some panadiene forte when it's really bad, prescription required, but have stayed away from Lyrica due to the side effects which can be particularly bad in some people.

Greg, be aware that any codeine based medications particularly with FORTE in their name can cause some some deleterious effect to your intestinal systems, as well as being extremely addictive. Codeine also loses it's effectiveness after regular/multiple uses. Paracetemol may be a more prudent choice of relief.
