Loses have been made, insurances dropped, customer pays more it is not about a single insurance but the whole field up 10-20%. There is only one way to get a better price, ring your insurer and ask for a review.
Drop the dollar insured raise the excess, tell the person on the line that you have new online quotes from other insurers, mention some of their competitors.
Do not tell them the quote dollars also tell the insurer that you will ring the insurers who quoted to see if they can do better. This has worked for me in the last 3 years.
This will get you a better deal in my recent home insurance a $300 turnaround.
