200 SERIES FUEL GAUGE

Hopefully I can get some help here before seeking a Dealer. I have a 4/2018 Toyota Landcruiser 200 Series - 32,000 kilometres. Can someone help me out with a sticking fuel gauge? When I get in the car the gauge is on E. When I turn the ignition ON, the needle goes straight to F. When I turn the ignition OFF the needle goes straight back to E. I have done 310 kilometres since the car was last filled and the needle is still doing as stated above.

G'day MarKaz,
Welcome to the GN forum - it is generally worthwhile hanging in & having a good look around - the Search & Advanced Search tabs are well worth checking out.

I would suggest two things if other members have come across this problem & reply - have a look at the Toyota LC Forum & as your car should be under warranty, take it back to your dealer.

Cars these days are full of electronics, gone are the days when you used to tap the gauge to get it to read correctly!

The same thing happened to me on a previous English car with an electric fuel gauge service centre somehow reversed connections. As soon a ignition on gauge went to "Full" - In your case I would take back to Toyota as a warranty problem.

Definitely back to the dealer, they should look after you.

Appreciate your help. The car is a 4/2018 model, therefore the warranty is out by 4 months.

At your mileage I believe statutory warrant would still be applicable. Particularly in COVID times.

Toyota extended my 200VX fixed service period due to Covid.

Thanks Possum & Vince Ill contact my local Toyota Dealer and see what they say about statutory warranty especially in COVID times.
