Any help here would be much appreciated. On my 2010 Mazda BT 50 dual cab ute, the small square black button located to the side of the L and R rocker switch for the mirrors, has become stuck in the locked position, thus not allowing me to reposition one or both mirrors. I've removed the button and given the `well' in which the button sits a good squirt of WD 40 but this hasn't changed anything.
Electrical contacts in those switches. A bit less of a fire hazard to spray in something like Selleys Ezy Glide silicon spray.
I have taken the door trim panel off my Land Rover, it's not difficult. Can't see the BT50 is any different.
Things like the mirror switches are a self contained module, & the wiring loom just plugs in, that you can take out. Probably just needs turning upside down & bashed out.

Rocker switches are assembled with electrical grease, and after some time/use they collect dirt (as with anything that uses sticky lubricant). The manufacturer or the vehicle recommends replace, which is what we do under warranty, but after that pull the switch out and disassemble it taking care not to loose any parts (they are spring loaded) clean parts with relevant solvent to totally remove old grease, re grease (with limited amount) and reassemble. you may find it happens again and again within smaller time frames, this is just the parts inside becoming unservicable.
also another reason they stick is an arc between the contacts, this will mean you need to replace the switch or carefully sand/file the affected contacts clean/smooth then polish it as roughness will cause the same issue, then reassemble as above.
motor wreckers can sometimes be a good source for parts, for switches look in newer vehicles (lower Km) that are exactly the same (physical dimensions, same plug and the way its wired).
