Caravan Park Prices

Why is it so dammed hard for these caravan parks to put their prices on their websites? I have been trying to book accommodation for next year and i am now deleting all parks from my list who won't put prices out there

Can't comment from experience,as I am fully self-contained,and go nowhere near caravan parks. However,I have heard that many parks use an outside booking agency? Cheers

Sounds like a whinge but I think your point is very valid. Doesnt effect us much as we rarely use them but when we do we have had problems with finding prices.

I just phone them and ask,
It is not that hard.
If you use a booking agency you will get mucked around and generally shafted with the price.

Hey, that is why we choose Bush or freedom camping.

I agree about ringing them.

I will hit the road full time next year, but i have the same thing when booking a motel somewhere when i travel on my bike.

Quiet often the motel can not match the prices i get on the internet through booking sites, mainly due to their buying power, but with caravan parks, i doubt they get any special rates.

The provider, whoever that may be, caravan park, motel, or hotel, should always be able to offer the best rates.

Its not that difficult all that information can be sourced by using wiki camps

Price during off season = $X

Price during school holidays = $XXX

gdayjr I heard that the major booking agencies like trivago are not Australian owned and use their marketing power to screw hotels/motels etc out of about 30% of the overnight fees.

Because CP offer a range of seasonal prices and often have deals on longer stays or weekday stays etc, people get shirty when they roll up, check in and are told the price isn't what they expect. I don't blame them really. Just ring before you turn up.

In using our van, we have not stayed in a caravan park for over 12 years. I have stayed when I have been touring by bike, but only 5 times since 2016. I/we are not that fond of the parks, but we hope to go to a Moree park on or around 29 Aug for our 40'th, to use the hot springs there. We will only be tenting it this time together with our dog's.

Because they are opportunists and the rule of thumb is "what the market will bear."

A reasonable guide is the Prices guide on wikiCamps.

Will vary though as the park fills up during the day until late and then the price sometimes drops.
