Safe, overnight stay near or south of Gilgandra

I hope to make a dash to QLD from south NSW in a week or two depending on the COVID-19 restrictions. I'll need to stopover somewhere near or south of Gilgandra. I want to minimise the potential contact with SARS-CoV2 so I'd like to stop somewhere safe but without any interaction with other people.

Does anybody know of such a place to stop overnight?

Warkworth Recreation Park has basic amenities, normally very clean - large area for social distancing www.aircamp.com.au/campsite/warkworth-recreation-ground

Another place, about 30 odd kilometers south of Gilgandra, (about 3 Ks east of the Newell Highway)

Is the very small town of Eumungerie, turn east (right) off the Newell on Cobboco Rd

It has an old pony club ground

Last time I was there, (a few years ago), they had a caretaker on site

Power was about $10 per night, and no power, (anywhere on the large ground) was $5 per night

They have toilets and water, but I assume you will not use them, if you want to stay away from other people

The only way I know of contacting anyone in that town, is ringing the pub (The Drovers Dog), or the Post Office

They are the only two shops in that town, just in case they have closed the pony club grounds down

Thanks for that info Andrew, I learned something new today

I also found out that this campsite, is also in the Camps Australia Wide (version 10) book, with the same telephone number

I originally heard of this campsite, by word of mouth, around 2015, and have stayed there a few times since

I would highly recommend it, for anyone looking for a safe place to overnight (or a few days), south of Gilgandra

If you do not want power ($5 each RV), you can park anywhere on the very large area

Get yourself a WikiCamp subscription. you will never regret. So much other info
available like water taps, places of interest, toilets, etc.

And you can set the display up and watch your progress on the screen!

There's 3 good camps right in GG.
