Choose carefully and be prepared to pay for the service you expect

Years ago, during one of the regular self-destructive paroxysms that the CMCA board and senior staff used to inflict on the hoi polloi, they shut the forum down, and banned a few of the more prickly members.
I started a new forum called "cmca unlimited" and it was really picking up steam with lots of active members and even a threat of legal action from one of the directors. An inner circle proudly referred by the name "the ratbags" after an insulting description by one of the directors, was particularly active in trying to bring the cmca to account. 

Trouble is I had picked a provider on advice and it turned out to be run by a couple of eastern European teenagers whose parents had stopped paying them pocket money, so they shut it down overnight. No backup possible so that was the end of that particular seething hotbed of cmca discontent.
Pity
