Hey there everyone, well I wasn't quite sure I would make it this far a few times but I'm here to tell the story! lol I had to bring it all in and reflect once again if this is the lifestyle for me. Hopefully my story helps in somewhere along the way on yours.
I am about 12 to 14 months of the full time Nomad thing. The caravan is ordered, and the choice of tug is sorted.
I have the same trepidations as you about all this, it will be a complete opposite from the life i am living right now.
They say you only live once! I guess we all have different theories on that one.
I can tell you, that after being "dead" for about 20 mins after a bad traffic accident, I have a different outlook on life to a lot of people, and I will try and get the most out of every day I have left on this earth.
I have enjoyed the research stage, and I have a lot more planning to do.

Oh that's great news! Yes I think many have similar trepidations but... easy does it. A slow transition in would be great!
Oh wow that must have been a life altering moment that's for sure! I cant imagine how that would have impacted upon someone's life.

Although i live in Sydney at the momment, i have ordered the Crusader caravan from a Melbourne dealer.
I will transfer the Iveco rego to my daughters place in Geelong, and put my GDAYJR number plates on it.
My tow vehicle, will be an Iveco Daily E6 van, that will be here by next February or so. The caravan is due for delivery in June 2022 at the moment, but i have a fair bit of flexability on the dates.
I aim to have the van sorted out and rigged up for my uses and needs well before the caravan is due.
As soon as i get the call to say that the caravan is good to go, i will load the van up with the possesions i want to take with me.
Everything else will be sold, or donated to whoever needs it more than me.
I will pick the caravan up, and i will then spend a few weeks in and around the Geelong and Surf Coast area where my kids and grand kids live.
Hopefully i will get it all sorted and familiar within a few weeks by living in it, and doing a few trips down the Great Ocean Road, within a few hours of the family.
Once everything is sorted, it will be over to Tassmania, for however long i want to roam around the Island.
On the way back, i will toss acoin on the ferry. When i get off in Melbourne it will be heads i turn left, tails i turn right.

It sounds like you have some great planning in process and will be ensuring you have everything you need on board your new home!
Tasmania is supposed to be a wonderful place to visit especially in your own home on wheels.

Do not worry about your cat, she will not be happy until she knows, she is the master, and you are her slave (the same as any other cat)
I was told, one way to ensure that a cat will be happy travelling, is to take it travelling, (short journey to shops, or long journeys) while it is a kitten
Taking our kitten in the car with us, we had no problems with her travelling with us, when she was a much older cat
I am not into spiritual stuff, (either too dense in the head, or too old to change)
My gut feeling, (after talking to many other travelers), is that those who can not adapt to their new environment, will not like travelling
I suppose that this could be why, we see a lot of near new, second hand RV's for sale
I am only a part time traveler, (with good neighbours), but to me, it is the people you meet on the roads, and at the destinations, which make the journeys enjoyable

Haha Yes I believe that to be true and at this point in time she has no control over me driving! lol Yes great idea taking them as kittens on the road. I would have done that sooner if I were aware of my new lifestyle. Makes complete sense.
Ah never to old to change and never too dense in the head, different strokes for different folks but there may be time left yet if you choose it! haha
Yes that makes so much sense and I guess that's why so many people suggest to hire out a home for a few months first to see if they like it.
Sounds great! I am still to meet many people on the road except for a few here and there however a couple I have made further contact with which is great.
