There used to be more people in hospital with the flu than cov-19.

Australia,pop. over 25 million, cases in hospital with covid, 18,of those 2 in ICU.

it would seem x number of people died every year due to the flu and we have a new vaccine for that every year , this last year it would appear that death from flu is greatly reduced . i would hazard a guess that may be due to some lockdowns, use of face masks, a lot of hand sanitizer an a lot of social distancing

The only reason that Australia has low case numbers is that the running of the country hasn't been left to old fools.

Plain truth I'm with you. EXCEPT. Except the theory that being vaccinate helps prevent the spread. You can get sick. That's ok. Your right. But I don't want someone coughing on me. And the more that get vaccinated the sooner the loonies premiers stop calling lock downs.

Plain Truth: you're an intelligent man, I've read your posts for years and when I see a post by you I always read it. Therefore I am confounded at your irrational stance against Covid vaccines.

Sure, the vaccine has bad side effects in a very small number of people, every vaccine does. There is always risk but, I suggest to you, that the risk of *not* having the vaccine *especially* in your age group is *far* in excess of receiving it. PT: at your age, if you get Covid, you are very likely dead.

Let's compare flu and Covid if you wish:

"Seasonal flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year"

Covid has killed 3,500,000 in a little over one year

Talk to your doctor, do research on reputable on-line sites - there will *never* be a guarantee that any vaccine will be 100% risk free but surely you can do the arithmetic of the numbers of vaccines given against the numbers of reactions? After that you may as well argue black is white.

The graphic Landy posted is correct - every woman on The Pill has a far higher chance of blood clots.

As you say; it's your body to do with as you wish but if you stop posting over the next few months I'll have an idea why.

COVID-19 is mutating all the time. The sooner everyone is vaccinated, the lower the risk of a really deadly variant appearing. In fact the Indian variant (ie the one currently circulating in Melbourne) is now contagious within a day whereas earlier variants required one week. At the moment the virus doesn't kill children, at least not in great numbers, but that could change overnight. Listen to your medical officer, not Trumpist boofheads on the Internet.

most of us would have had our polio, mumps, measles, chicken pox, small pox, yellow fever, whooping cough, ect,ect vaccines and we still occasionally have small out breaks of some of these diseases but because of the vaccines we have had ,they do not cause the problems they use to cause .
covid will go the same way if enough people get their shots ( even responsible people with pets have them vaccinated to prevent the problems they could have if they were not vaccinated )

Recoup, looking at the printouts, I ask a serious question as to what this shows? Is it reactions to the vaccines, reactions to components of the vaccines, or what exactly.

I ask as firstly, the first reaction date shown on some of the reports mention 1921 and 1968, and secondly, I wonder about some of the reactions listed.

Could you just advise what they are supposed to be showing.

in the UK you can report a suspected ADR to the yellow card system ,like in the US , VAERS .
All injuries are recorded there . You mention 1921 and 1968 , I don't know what that means , Covid-19 was not around then.

I got one more side ,but I won't publicise it unless some one ask for it. I am not against the vaccine , and I don't talk anyone out of not having one , I am just careful .

1921 would have been about the time of the Spanish flue that you often hear Covid compared to, although I do not know if that is the case here.

I doubt the validity of some of the numbers in that article but it certainly seems like the newer strains of Covid are a significant challenge for the Chinese and Russian and to a lesser extent the AZ vaccines.

It is a nasty little virus, no doubt and one does wonder what the future holds.

I hope that all the lunatics denying the virus are the ones who get it. After all their tin hats and single cell brain says it isnt real and wont affect them.
I see a couple of covid deniers recently died from the virus.. Should all be charged with stealing oxygen...

I had my shot a week ago and until now all good. All of a sudden this morning I got very tired so not sure if that is a side effect or not.

I had no problem deciding to get or not to get.

Of those 4,863 people have died,though this is a small percentage,you wouldn't want to be one of them.

4 times much greater chance of dying whilst driving or being a passenger on Australian roads. (Aust bureau of stats figures)About 18 million licences for a total of about 1200 deaths. You also wouldn't want to be one of them .

285 million doses given has also possibly saved the lives of many thousands of people...not having the vaccine will see more deaths. Fortunately in Australia we had very little impact or deaths from the virus that other countries had. Complacency has crept in, along with the looney toon fringe, and if the state and federal govt dont lift their games we are going to joining other countries with shocking death rates and economic downturns. Maybe the deniers would volunteer at the ICU wards and tell the dying and health workers that they are dreaming...

Really! Basic statistics please.

"Up to 24th May" - from when? Let's assume three months and let's assume *all* those people had two shots so that's 142M people who received the vaccine.

Take any sample of 142M people over three months and how many do you think will die? I have no idea but I'll put money on it being at least 4,863.

In September 2020 40,000 people died. The cause of death for over 11% of them was Alzheimer's disease, so that's about 4000 *per month* - what are you going to do along with refusing the vaccine... refuse to grow old?

All that shows is that there were X reported, yet-to-be investigated cases of death sometime after receipt of a particular vaccine. If I understand correctly, anyone can report a suspicious case, not just a doctor. I would think that doctors would err on the side of caution and report every death, even if they were aware of underlying, pre-existing health issues.
