Sights around Lake Eildon Victoria

Most people know of Lake Eildon as a place for boating and fishing, the end.  Well if you care to look around it is so much more.  Surrounded by forest, bush walks and amazing views such as Mt Torbreck it is a great place to visit if you are prepared to look around and do a bit of walking.  The town itself doesn't have a lot to offer in the way of dining out, there is a hotel and bakery, a supermarket and fishing shop but not a lot more.  The highlights are the beautiful waters and surrounding rivers and forests.

All roads leading in to Eildon are well made bitumen highways and there are some nice caravan parks.  Great place for trout fishing in the Goulburn River or the Eildon Pondage and the Lake itself has murray cod and great for boating.

Here are a few photos showing the nicer parts.
