I lent our garage to a female neighbour while traveling. She drove her car through the brick wall at the back. $11,000 to fix the garage & she replaced her written off car.

Wawt, she must have been doing a 100, to do that much damage, do you still lend it to her now? Maybe if it was double brick, it would have been less damage, although at 100km an hour, maybe not so.

There was a large block of wood which I drive up to which was attached to a piece of plywood which the front wheel weighs down first so the block doesn't move. That survived more or less unscathed. That didn't help.
Luckily I had cleared out the garage of turps, lighter fuel, metho, & tins of paint at the end of the garage. Could have been a cremation.
