newbie heading off for a big trip Perth to Brisbane

Hi everyone

what a great forum. I have become addicted to reading everyone's info and stories.

We are two 62 yr olds who just bought a Jayco work and play. We took a holiday for a few weeks to Denmark came home and my husband retired on the spot. We are heading off to Brisbane for July and the birth of our first grandchild.

We intend to stay around south WA for a couple of months then head over the Nulabor, round the coast to adelaide and follow the coast all the way up ( COVID permitting)

any hints tips, special places to stay etc would be appreciated

Mary

Welcome to the gang Mary, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Yes, this is a great forum with mostly great people, just a couple think they know better than most but I try to skip past that stuff.

Enjoy your first grandchild. I have 4 that I see when I can and another 4 I don't see anymore sadly. All good though. I love them all.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

A warm welcome from me also, Mary and hubby

any hints tips, special places to stay etc would be appreciated

If you get hold of the Camps Australia Wide Book, (think that it up to version 10)
And/or download Wikicamps, you will see where the free/donation/paid sites are

There is no easily obtained potable water, between Norseman, and Ceduna
Make sure you fill your tanks in Norseman

While on the Nullarbor, you may be lucky enough to see the whales, at Head of Bight
The whales are usually there between July and October
You turn off about 14 kilometres passed the Nullarbor Roadhouse, and it is about 10 kilometres in, on a bitumen road

There are just too many good things to see, and as we are all different, we all have different places, we like to go

Hi Mary, Welcome to GN's.
Interstate travel is much to dicey at the moment with the COVID-19 popping up everywhere - you may get somewhere that you cannot get back into WA.
I hope you get to the Grand Opening of the grandchild adventure but remember there is always SKYPE and such, if you can't get there in person.
