No experience with Brass Monkey but have a Bushman that I bought in 1998. It has been used non stop since , as a beer fridge when not in the car and has never missed a beat . Hope this helps .

If I ever wanted a 2way upright fridge, I would go for a Bushman as well, cheaper then every one else, and Australian made, NOT made in China. They make normal portables as well. Definitely worth the money.
I have had the 80lt stainless steal fridge/freezer for about two years now
when not in back of ute it sits under my patio as a drinks fridge and overflow freezer
i have had no problems and it has been running all the time
with a 3 year warranty and a good price i would buy another one if needed

I have two car fridges - a 60L Trailblazer that has given me many years of cooling/freezing use. The power unit blew up after 22 years of service. I had it replaced rather than going out & buying a Chinese made replacement.
The second one is a Brass Monkey 36L fridge/freezer. We bought it as it's smaller & lighter. My main grumble is the seemingly lack of insulation where the compressor cuts in far more often than I would have expected. I'd like to know where the pipes are so I can drill a hole in the case & squirt some expanding foam in. The temperature gauge shows the same concern. The Trailblazer runs the pants off it but it's big & heavy (38kg).
The warranty is good & both Jaycar & RTM offer quick answers to queries.

i bought a 60 litre dual zone brass monkey after about 2 months use the fridge side stopped working i took it back to jaycar they replaced the unit with a new one no questions asked the new 60 litre runs perfect i connected it to a lithium 120 ah battery as a test it ran for 46 hours and drew 95 amps in that time i would recommend one no worries
ambient temp was about 27 /28 deg i had the fridge side set at 4 deg the freezer side at -17 the fridge and freezer were both empty it was more a test on the battery and after 95 ah were taken out it still had 12.9 volts so i am pretty happy with as well so can recommend the orange top itech world battery and i paid $775 for it on a black friday sale price

Which equates to 47Ah per day and is a very decent power consumption for -17C in +27C - I assume nights were around 20C?
Incidentally the freezer need only be run at -12C - this reduces power consumption noticeably and is perfectly safe for food storage for at least three months.

Bushman (35/55 litre) - 5 years old and a 30 something year old Trailblazer (80 litre) are 2 best fridges I have owned over past 40 years. Both are set and forget and as a bonus both have "back up" service which is basically personal and immediate - you can speak to the people who actually manufacture the fridge. As far as I am concerned both are 5 star products.
Regarding our Trailblazer, we brought frozen whiting fillets at Ceduna one year & arrived home here in Townsville with them still frozen in the bottom of the fridge. We took the "short cut" home via the Gawler Ranges across to Marree to Birdsville & across.
The maker told me if I kept the power up to it, I could bury it & it would keep going!
But they are heavier (marine grade aluminium + between 50mm insulation in the lid & 75 in the case) & dearer than the Chinese made units.

My 28L fridge with no additional insulation set up in bedroom with 3 heaters running, 35°C ambient temperature for entire 24 hours. 86AH for 24 hours. Fridge set at -22°C but typically could only get down to -12.5°C. So the fridge could only get to 47°C below ambient. The fridge can get to -25°C when ambient is mid teens!

We have a Brass Monkey 42lt. Only had 6 months. Done 3 trips each about 2-4 weeks and the fridge has been perfect. We mainly use it as a drinks fridge as we are towing a van but it maintains perfect temp {indicated minus 3} whilst it is on, and is quick to cool down again if we stop and don't plug in to mains. Would recommend.
I purchased the 50ltr brass monkey fridge after purchasing it someone told a friend that they draw more amps than others however my 70ltr kings sent the 2x 100 amp batteries In my Toyota hiace flat . This week we've had 3 overcast rainy days and once again flat .ive put my fold out 200watt solar panel and 250 on the roof its boosted it up .so now im working on trial and error type thing. I haven't bought the monkey battery yet . However the chord to the fridge is long enough to plug it into my car whilst driving so that will mean only plugging the fridge in when stationary. I hope this helps ! Also I will be going into jaycar this week the app locks your fridge on the temp u set it to. But if you so much as lean lightly on it the beep happens like your changing the temp. Im figuring to go in and talk with the team in bundy lots of questions
It will take about an hour with a very simple amp meter, clock & back of an envelope to collate a data set, amps, fridge cycle (on/off percentage of time). Then there will be no more stabbing around in the dark.
