As far as I'm aware, toll roads using etoll, etag or govia (ie digital account management and whatever's name is used locally) all use numberplate recognition to determine costs. Your numberplate should correctly identify your vehicle type, use and dimensions.

Not so i'm afraid. My MH is registered as a normal vehicle under 4495 kg and the etag is for a private vehicle but still get charged as a truck. They measure the height at 3.2 I get slugged. I have to ring up and get a credit each time they will do nothing about it hopeing you wont bother. In NSW they get an automatic credit based on number plate but only if registered in NSW. Its a huge con on a lot of MH forums

Hi I have heard that two ariels parallel to each other increase range or the signal quality and I also notice on a lot of serious travellers they have this setup I have just fitted a uniden with a 600 mm thick Ariel but can get a lot of interference when distant from who I am talking to any ideas on how to fix this problem without fitting any other ariels

Travelyounger ... at risk of further derailing this thread ... while it's possible to combine two UHF aerials, it's not cheap and requires an expert install. Done incorrectly, it can create a loss of signal. The travellers you have seen with multiple antennas are almost certainly running two transceivers and are not combined. I suspect your "interference" is simply weak signal reception and the squelch function will solve this for you. Changing antenna to one suitable to the terrain or environment you're travelling might give an improvement but most people settle for a mid range dbi antenna. UHF aren't really set & forget gadgets and they need to be adjusted to achieve best results in every location, if perfect transmission/reception is important to you. The size and "thickness" of an antenna do not necessarily indicate it's capability.
