Since it is a new fridge start with the supplier. If that doesn't work mention Fair Trading, there are very helpful.

Have you given it time to purge air out of line ?

There maybe a shut off tap between the gas bottle and the fridge that needs turning on

Welcome to the forum Puppy,
Just following on from firstly JeffRae, have you had a look under your vehicle or somewhere near the gas bottle(s). Then from Aus-Kiwi, after confirming the gas is on, hold your thumb on the gas button for 20-30 secs, then hit the ignite button. You may have to repeat this a few times - or light the gas stove first, just to prove the gas is flowing.

Remember the old saying (KISS) - most of us go for the most difficult things first!

The new refrigerators do not have a gas button to push in, nor a piezo lighter. It's a set it to gas and let it do it's own thing.

The 90 litre Dometic firidge still has a piezo igniter as per page 7 of the operating instructions : https://www.caravansplus.com.au/pdf/Dometic_RM2350_Installation_Manual.pdf

Do they need to be level?  The woman at the caravan place who showed me how to work the things in my (secondhand) van mentioned that, if I couldn't get my fridge going on gas (but mine's the older type with the piezo)

To me, Items that a Certified Gas Technician would check out :

Gas valve to the Frig Turned on.( with Gas in the bottle and valve at the top of the bottle open)

When Gas is selected (or button pushed in) Gas ignites, but only small Flame, could be due to:

......Hose from the Gas Bottle to the Gas Regulator partly Blocked.

......Regulator Partly Blocked ( most likely) Gas Frigs need more Gas pressure than Gas Stoves.

......Blocked jet in new frig due to grit in the gas line due to one of the above. ( Gas line needs to be cleaned and jet cleaned.)

When Gas is selected (or button pushed in) Gas does not ignite, could be due to:

......12volts not connected

......Problems with the ignition circuit.

When Gas is selected (or button pushed in) Gas Flame does ignite, but the flame does not keep alight. could be due to:

......Problems with the Thermocouple.

As stated above work on a Gas appliance should be carried out by a certified Gas Tek.

Being a new frig I would think the installer would have ensured that it worked correctly on 12v, 240vac and Gas so I would be going back to him/her to sort the issue out..

And agree with (after confirming the gas is on, hold your thumb on the gas button for 20-30 secs, then hit the ignite button. You may have to repeat this a few times - or light the gas stove first, just to prove the gas is flowing.)

That's ok JeffRae,
I was just adding to what you & Aus-Kiwi had pointed out about gas taps, purging. Obviously technology is changing.
And for future reference, PeterinSa mentioned about blockages - often these can be caused by aging flexible gas connection hoses - a reason why some vans have solid copper feeds.

The people who sold/installed Puppy's fridge should have shown them how to use it correctly.

I had to think about the issue last night as there was a terrific thunderstorm here at Capella yesterday afternoon & the power to the district was off. It's quite some time since we used the fridge on gas. We enjoyed a nice quiet night courtesy of our battery & gas cylinder.
Today might be a little different (the power is back on) with the temperature expected to reach 39 degrees. We are having a drive-rest day to give our falling apart bodies a chance to restore before the long haul home tomorrow.

Turn the AES OFF, turn the fridge off and then back on. Some with the later PCB take a little more time to ignite. Give it a few minutes.
