Shower mould in silicon

Hi all

Looking for tips on stopping mould from forming in the white silicone mainly on the bottom internal joint near door .I know the obvious things like ventilation and drying down after use but sometimes this is not always possible.I have removed all the old silicone and am using selleys no mould .

Any feedback would be great or other ideas

Cheers

We live in a humid area & at the waters edge. Mould in our block of units is an issue, & it is not just with silicone. We squeegee the shower dry & this keeps the mould at bay.

Fact of life. Ask the wife. She has tried everything know to man kind. Well almost!
I seem to recall that the big green shed sells a specific anti mould silicon.

We have found that squeegeeing and drying down after every use keeps our shower unit in an as new condition - The best cleaner for the ensuite area is white vinegar/water in spray bottle.

You can buy this stuff called "damp rid", it's crystals that suck up water into a bucket/container. There's a hanging version, and other brands basically the same stuff. I've used it out in my shed that gets condensation on the ceiling. It can help if you've got a damp location.

If you have condensation on the ceiling, insulate it. We replaced our block of unit's garage roof & had insulation installed, R1.5 with foil backing. Brilliant winter & summer! 2 of us have also added a second layer of Aircell (Kingspan, new name) building bubble wrap.

Thanks, it's just a garden shed, I shouldn't have said "ceiling", it's just the roof of the shed, colourbond sheeting. The sealing around the floor isn't right, and it's on a bit of a slope, so water runs into the shed and then condenses.  There's nothing good in there, it's just gardeny stuff.

Double seal the roof and add vents

Oil of cloves mixed with water & sprayed on mould is a constant aid to carry in a good wet season in the tropics.
