I would ask which route you would be taking? The traditional route being Bourke - Cobar - Wilcannia?  Or will you be travelling "cross-country" so to speak?

I am interested in the journey, if you are actually going 'OFF-THE-BEATEN-TRACK.

The roads that run each side of the river are typically very good, but very dusty.
Do NOT even consider any of them if rain is forecast. It is black soil and goes like grease with the first shower.
This 60 second video clip is NE of Wilcannia on the northern side of the river in September 2019 at the height of the drought.
