Heavy Vehicle Rest Areas..

So I should not use truck rest areas and I should not break the law.
So not using any rest areas is my only option according to your advise?
Cheers,
Peter

I offer no advice apart from where I have already suggested you may take up options for rest. This applies  to anyone who refuses to recognise the common sense aspect of this topic.

You are comparing your self entitled views against common sense of a motor home using a rest area designated for trucks whose drivers are compelled by law to stop and rest.

What the hell is your point Peter?

All I can say is go and park your self entitled arse in a Truck Only parking bay any time you like and then have a bitumen jockey park you in and argue with him.

Mate you are the problem... Your pedantic stand on this is why there is a problem out there..

Lighten up Peter...your big 6Ton rig fails into insignificance when your selfish intentions cause a professional driver to have to continue driving to the next parking bay while YOU have prevented him or her from being able to achieve their correct rest hours.

Do you really know how silly you have represented yourself in this topic?

If all else fails, resort to personal attack?

Common sense is the answer. But unfortunately that's in short supply these days. We see it every where in today's society. Self entitlement is just fine until you get 80tons of truck parked on top of you because the driver couldn't find somewhere to rest.

I think everyone needs not to think 'truck' but rather think 'commercial'. We don't have to be on the roads, commercial driver do. So get right out of their way and find some quiet corner where 'commercial' drivers don't go. Besides, expect for a quick drinks break, why would you camp in a noisy truck rest area?

Stating facts to the wilfully ignorant is not a personal attack.

Another well thought out and informative post from you Dillberries.

It is a shame that the effort you put into actually typing a reply could have been constructive comments based on the video I shared in my first post.

If you watched it you may have noted that the video referred to the mixed use of a rest area by both trucks and RVs. It did not apply to Truck Only areas nor did it apply to RV areas although mention was made of the two.

Like you, I shake my head. no no no

Have a nice day,

 Spot on bgt,

If common sense became available to all then there would not be a problem.

Maybe the signs on these truck only bays could be reworded to include your term of Commercial Drivers as opposed to holiday makers and retirees in their motor homes and caravans.

Hi Chris....perhaps he finally has realised that no amount of arguement can change presented facts, and has instead decided to focus on topics where anyone, and everyone, with an opinion can make a valued contribution? When I made the original post,I had little realisation of  how much "interest" it would attract.Cheers

 Good morning Yobar,

You original post was good and informative in its drawing attention to the illegal use of Truck Rest Areas by caravans and RVs.

As with some others you lost me when you put your highway cowboy hat on.

My observations after a lifetime in the trucking industry is that there is a confrontational attitude between a certain sector within the industry. Your unfortunate comments only go to reinforce my observations.

Confrontation will never fix this problem but if I am wrong then point out just how it will work.

If you agree that anyone who parks a 6 metre Motor Home in a Truck Only Bay is all OK with you then let us all know on here.

If you dont agree with this activity then your argument is not with me but with Peter and Margaret and some others on here.

Regards

Rob Driver
