Holed Up

Mate was saying today that on Tuesday he went for a bimble around the local countryside on his motorbike and was surprised that there were virtually the same number of people holed up in the campground at Whroo as there were a Greens Lake.

We discussed the likelyhood of all the people returning to Melb, holing up until the restrictions are lifted and which was really the better site. I thought Greens was, cause at least there are water views. His idea was that Whroo would be better as you could poke around with your detector and hopefully find something that the 10000s of others have missed.

He also commented on his journey that there were heaps and heaps of vanners moving around.

I was thinking that in the past, people would head off early May from Vic and return before the Grand Final, and whether this might be what is occuring.

Comments anyone?

I've been at Greens Lake since it opened to camping again. Weekends 20 to 30 vans/motor homes. Monday, tue quiet then builds up again to weekend. The ski boats have been busy on the weekend as well as a number of fishing boats.

Green camp at whroo has very limited fenced sites. I've never counted them but would think not many more than 10-15 max. l normally camp there for a bit in early spring to see wildflowers, bushwalking.

Only thing l know is some of us fulltimers stuck in Vic this winter have been staying at camps throughout regional areas. Some camps were closed to travelers with a home base while allowing us with no fixed address to stay,

Stretch.
